ivan mares

Glass artist Ivan Mares was born February 12, 1956, in Decin, Czeck Republic. He received his education at the Specialized Secondary Glass School in Kamenicky Senov, Czechoslovakia, from 1971 to 1975 and the Academy of Art, Architecture, and Design in Prague, Czechoslovakia, from 1975-1983, where he was a student of Stanislav Libensky. Ivan Mares sculptures are owned by numerous public collections internationally including the Los Angeles Museum of Art, Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, National Gallery, Prague, Czech Republic, Museum of fine Arts Boston, • National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia and the Corning Museum of Glass.
